On 24th February 2021 I participated in an online discussion organised by the UK Parliament Knowledge Exchange Unit as part of their ongoing review of researcher diversity in engagement with UK Parliament. Specifically, I contributed with a disability inclusion perspective and a summary of findings from this review is now available.
One outcome from these online discussions was the creation of two policy documents – one for researchers engaging with UK Parliament and the second an internal policy for increasing diversity in engagement with UK Parliament. I participated in the review in October 2021 and feedback for the internal document.
During the online discussions I mentioned the difficulty in finding opportunities to engage and a mailing list has now been established for a weekly roundup of opportunities.
I am a contributor of evidence submitted by the KEU to the House of Commons Science and Technology Committee’s inquiry on Diversity in STEM.
