This Summer the Data 2 Knowledge research group hosted three A Level students to work on the following Nuffield Summer Research projects:
1) One student worked on coding of interview/audio transcripts in relation to human relations in practising science.
2) One student helped us to create a new ALSPAC dataset – to be published soon and released for social science research
3) The third student participated in a robotics and software project using kit from my project. The aim was to create a LEGO Mindstorms version of Conway’s game of life. The student had 4 weeks to design, build, calibrate and test a robot to play the game of life and also to program the software to calculate the game of life. If there had been one more week, this LEGO project would have been self-writing as well as self-reading. Alas there wasn’t enough time!
